Call the Midwife!

You know when a series on TV comes out and sometimes you just cannot get into, even though it does look good, it just seems either time will not let you sit and concentrate or it is one of those moments that you literally just cannot get into it...

Well with the Call the Midwife series, I was just like that the moment I first saw it on TV, I just could not seem to concentrate on the series, so eventually gave up..

But just this past week, I decided I would download it and watch, well I was glad I did, what a fantastic show..I am now onto watching series 2..

I just love the war time era and the strengths that these midwives, women and families of those era endued..

This series is based on a Novel and True Life story of the East End in London in the 1950's...

To read more about the Novel you can HERE and more about the TV Adaptation HERE...

What are you all watching of late?

Haven't ever been a huge reader, but since the purchase of my iPad and some recent holidays, I found myself engrossed in so many books and really surprised myself as to how quickly I was getting through them all..

One of those good reads was a book called On Dublin Street, written by Samantha Young..

For me to sit and read a book, it needs to capture me straight away, otherwise I struggle to get into it..

On Dublin Street, did exactly that..I love the strong male character in this book, rich, handsome and a take charge kind of male on the exterior, but on the interior somewhat scared to show the true colours, that is until he meets his match and the girl that can take down those walls...on the other hand the female character is scared but yet intrigued and captured to let him into her life..

A blurb about the book..

Jocelyn Butler has been hiding from her past for years. But all her secrets are about to be laid bare…

Four years ago, Jocelyn left her tragic past behind in the States and started over in Scotland, burying her grief, ignoring her demons, and forging ahead without attachments. Her solitary life is working well—until she moves into a new apartment on Dublin Street where she meets a man who shakes her carefully guarded world to its core.

Braden Carmichael is used to getting what he wants, and he’s determined to get Jocelyn into his bed. Knowing how skittish she is about entering a relationship, Braden proposes an arrangement that will satisfy their intense attraction without any strings attached.

But after an intrigued Jocelyn accepts, she realizes that Braden won’t be satisfied with just mind-blowing passion. The stubborn Scotsman is intent on truly knowing her… down to the very soul.

So if you are looking to purchase a good book for the Holidays ahead, this is worth a read :)

First Holiday Snaps!

Hello my friends

Cannot believe how time flies by and it only seems like yesterday I was heading to Melbourne with my bestie for great I wish we were still there..

The beauty that surrounds The Dandenongs is simply breathe taking and the gardens that we got the opportunity to visit were awe inspiring..

Deciding to share some of my photos with you all in different posts as there are so many for just one sitting..

My friend and I left my families house on the Tuesday and headed for the hills, with weather not really it's best and true to Melbourne weather we headed for the hills with rain and wind around us, managing to make it to Ferntree Gully, stopping at the local tourist information centre to gather some pamphlets to check out the great visiting locations...

We then made our way further up the hill to a small town called Sassafras where we would be staying for the few days in the hills, we pulled in and walked around under the large umbrella taking in a few shops and then settling down to a beautiful Devonshire Tea, sitting in the window of what looked like a small English cafe...

Having to fill in time we made our way to the famous Rhododendron Gardens, these are run by the State of Victoria and is free to visit, and WOW! what a visit, with loads of beautiful massed Rhododendron's, Azaleas, Magnolias, Fern Trees, Conifers and so so much more it was just an amazing spot to visit and I know I cannot wait to return one day again..

I got the opportunity to really play with my new camera and lenses and here are just a few snaps for you to enjoy..

Back again soon to share more of our trip with you all!
